From June 6th to 9th this year, European citizens will participate in the elections for the European Parliament. This marks the tenth occasion since 1979 that Europeans have exercised their right to vote for their representatives in Brussels. Election dates vary across the 27 EU member states; in Sweden, it's scheduled for Sunday, June 9th. Other countries may also hold local, regional, and federal elections simultaneously. Despite attempts to suggest my involvement is tied to Iran because of my desire to run for the European Parliament, you'll notice my name isn't among the candidates. That's simply because I've never had any interest in it. It's as straightforward as that. However, I bring up the EU election for a clear reason: it presents our best opportunity to lobby European countries to designate the IRGC as a terrorist organization. It's no secret that political parties in democracies seek votes, and with over a million people of Iranian descent in Europe, your vote matters! Reach out to the party you support and inquire about their stance on advocating for the IRGC's terrorist designation. This is the essence of democracy! Your vote can shape the outcome and subsequently influence the policies enacted.

Yesterday, I hosted a conference at the Swedish Parliament on the influence of the IRGC in Sweden, particularly in the academic sector. Research by United Against Nuclear Iran (UANI) indicates that the IRGC utilizes these collaborations to transfer technology and knowledge to advance its objectives. Civil society pressure must increase more than ever to influence EU decisions, and this conference, with participation from several institutions, @UANI, @EJAssociation, and Swedish media, was impactful in this regard.

The Islamic Republic is employing every available means to bolster its position. One tactic involves gaining access to Western knowledge, facilitated through agreements between European and Iranian universities. While appearing innocuous on the surface, a deeper examination reveals the gravity of the situation. Extensive investigation has revealed that all acquired knowledge falls under the control of the #IRGCterrorists. In essence, our taxpayer-funded education system has inadvertently assisted terrorists in advancing their agendas. It is imperative that the Minister of Higher Education, @matsperspektiv, appears before parliament to elucidate how such arrangements were allowed to transpire and outline steps to halt them. I am proud and thankful that, for the fourth time in the past 18 months, the European Parliament has unequivocally stood behind the Iranian people's pursuit of freedom. This time, it's with decisive action. It's imperative that the Council of Ministers, under Joseph Borrell's leadership, listens to the voices of elected representatives and refrains from furthering the Islamic regime's agenda. Additionally, they've launched smear campaigns against me and others doing substantial work to weaken the regime. Despite these aggressive tactics, we are determined to succeed.
