It is in times of adversity that people's true character is revealed. The ability to withstand blows and keep moving forward is what separates a champion from the one who finishes last. We faced a setback with Hamid Noury, no doubt about it. But we must not forget all those who fought to bring him to justice for his crimes. This guilty verdict means that every one of these murderers will think twice before boarding a plane to a country that has signed the Rome Statute, the legislation that led to Noury's conviction. For me, this setback only strengthens my resolve to work even harder toward our goal. I have no intention of letting this loss impede our struggle; that would be a grave betrayal of all those who have sacrificed their lives for freedom. What you do is up to you. You can either give up and admit defeat, or you can take the hit and come back even stronger. I am confident that you will choose the latter. If there is one thing ingrained in Iranian culture, it is the will to fight and to win. Let that be your compass. The future is bright, and it belongs to you.

The Swedish government's disgraceful decision to, like other European countries, capitulate to the Islamist regime in Iran leaves a bitter aftertaste. It is crucial to clearly and unequivocally emphasize that today's prisoner exchange occurred without the parliament being informed or involved in the decision. The government, consisting of the Moderate Party, Christian Democrats, and Liberals under the influence of the Sweden Democrats, has collectively chosen to bypass the democratically elected assembly. Fully aware that the parliament goes on summer recess in 4 days and that all members are currently in their home constituencies. Moreover, the government waited until after the European Parliament elections had concluded and communicated the decision on a Saturday, when media coverage is at its lowest. The fact that they deliberately abandon another Swedish citizen to his fate in Iran, KI researcher Ahmad-Reza Jalali, makes the situation even harder to accept. The Swedish government has likely invoked the constitutional provisions regarding clemency. While they indeed have this tool at their disposal, we have strongly opposed its use for many months. This action will create more hostages and new opportunities for the rogue state, the Islamic Republic of Iran, to continue its deplorable hostage diplomacy. Therefore, I will call Tobias Billström to the parliament. I seek answers to two questions: 1. Why did they yield to the Islamists' demands despite the obvious falsity of all accusations against our citizens? 2. There is a great need for deeper analysis and knowledge, especially considering that powerful interests are trying to control the narrative. This is essential if we aim to achieve our lofty goals of a free, secular, and democratic Iran.

A Few Thoughts on Tomorrow’s Election It should come as no surprise which party I’m voting for. The Center Party has been my political home, with one exception in the 1998 election when I voted for the Christian Democrats. Which candidate I choose to support is a personal matter, but I will definitely be casting my vote. This post, however, is about the importance of voting. A democracy is only as strong as the people’s willingness to make their voices heard. Without you, there is no democracy. No matter which party you choose, vote! Select a favorite; they will likely appreciate it. Every candidate has worked incredibly hard over the past few weeks to earn your trust. Choose someone you can hold to higher standards later on. I haven't voted yet; I will do so tomorrow. This is my 11th election campaign. My involvement has varied each time. This time, it has mostly been behind the scenes. In other elections, I have put up posters and handed out flyers. At other times, I’ve focused on debates. As I said, my involvement varies each time. One interesting observation this time is how intertwined the nationalist/fascist movements are. I will elaborate on this at another time. For now, I’ll leave you with this cliffhanger. Where I stand in this battle should become clear to all of you: Freedom, equality, and the ability to realize one’s dreams. These values are and will always be my ideological home and the driving force behind my political engagement.
